It has never helped me to avoid traffic, ever. It tells me there is traffic jam coming up when there is none at all. I found the traffic report fairly useless. Very useful when finding a friend's house at night. It does well in telling me where I am, even displaying the house numbers on my left and right. Some folks in this forum will have opposite view on this and find the map to be outdated. Used it side by side with Google map on my phone for the first few weeks, but I stopped doing that because it mostly give me exactly the same route anyway. There is a stretch of road near where I live where the speed limit changes from 30 to 45, and the nav displays the changes right when I pass the sign. ![]() Even the speed limit info is quite accurate. But then I tried it and my first impression was: "It is actually not all that bad."įor where I am (NYC and Westchester) the map seems to be fairly accurate. When I got my car I had very low expectation when it comes to the nav, primarily because I read what the good folks in this forum wrote about it.
